Children are victimized in our own city, in
the Drouillard Road area where we are located; by prostitution,
drug addicted parents, involvement in running drugs, as well as by
lack of funding, feeding, educating and protecting. Yet in a
few short years, the world's challenges will be theirs to manage!
Why are these children easy to ignore in our busy
life? They are small, and rarely cry out if overlooked - or worse,
traumatized or abused. It is vital for the future of humanity that
we make these children a priority in every area of life!

Developing Potential within the Urban Community
We are asking for partners to sponsor the children and women - those who will
join with us to strengthen, provide and support the daily activities here in
Windsor. Monthly supporters will be sowing seed into good ground -
bringing forth a great harvest - saving a generation and training up young

Personal Message - from the heart
Dear Partners,
2008 is almost completed and it's been a great
2008! Below
I will highlight the resources and some services we are
able to offer freely to children and families in the
community.
15 + computer workstations, with brand new desks,
wireless, safety, and networked
renovated QE women's clothing boutique (brand new
clothing donations and racks) and sewing studio
donation of 13 + brand new bolts of fabric, patterns and
machines
$20,000 + donation of brand new books - and our library
is set up now - and we have begun our literacy 'KIDS WHO
READ - SUCCEED' drop in program two days a week.
computer software for video/DVD editing, to make our own
teaching DVD's
musical instruments for the children's free lessons
bose sound system
seven guitars for our new youth guitar group
a keyboard
media equipment
multi media projector and screen
full size wall movie screen
flag screen LCR and dvd/video for reception &
parent's waiting area
large screen TV & dvd/video system for Training
Centre
video editing equipment
healthy food program donations
signs donated, murals painted behind our dance studio
/concert area
becoming a field placement agency for the U of W social

Needs:
4 Book Shelves - large matching for our new library

Renovation work - building a wall and door to enclose a
room for new counseling room
Monthly supporters - SOE currently has no core funding to cover
the monthly utilities, mortgage & administration
expenses
VOLUNTEER POSITIONS NEEDED:
Marketing & Fund Raising Manager

Clothing organizer
Flyer distribution volunteers
Drivers to pick up children to attend SOE
Some children live a little to far to walk in this
cold weather to the centre (Seminole and Pillette
area)
and we have another girl who lives too far away now
to get to SOE - she needs a ride from Elm Street,
by Wyandotte W. to SOE on Tuesdays at 5:00 pm and
Saturdays
Literacy tutors and monitors for our after school drop -
in program on Monday's or Wednesday's 3:30 - 5:30 pm
Saturday food prep and cleanup
Saturday receptionist, data entry of student records
