Thank you to everyone who prayed for our trip and made this trip
possible to the SOE Flag Co! The girls were truly changed by
worshiping the Lord with so many others and seeing His Glory!
Heaven's Rehearsal Event was truly the most awesome event I've
ever attended! To see so many musicians, instruments from every
nation, dancers, artists of all types of art work - all working
together to communicate our love for the Lord - was amazing! I
highly recommend attending this event next year!
There were over 40,000 people and it was beautiful, what an
honour for us the SOE Flag Co. and Shomar Worship Flag Troupe
from Orillia, all dancing together with so many professional
creative artists. We were the only non-professionals besides
another kids group doing a bit of hip hop (sorta) and others
from every nation with their ethnic dance styles and music!
Native Indians, Australian, Japanese, Hawaiian dancers, fire
eaters - and more!!
All live musicians - and a symphony - and even artists painting
on huge 6 foot canvas - and pottery and sculpturers! The web
site will have a DVD to purchase of the whole show! Check it out
- it will be posted soon and all the participants' info too -
not on there yet - but will be any day - at
www.heavensrehearsal.com
The SOE Flag Co. dancers loved attending this weekend in
Toronto, and did such a beautiful job flag dancing! It was life
changing for us all!!
Thank you to all our sponsors who made this trip for us possible
- and the parents who helped with food, driving and chaperoning!
And the kids - who were a great example of Excellence in Spirit,
attitude and twirling!
Location: Rogers Centre, (form Skydome) Toronto November 1, 2008
DVD's and CD's of the event (with our performance included)
are available to order now - in time for Christmas as: www.Heavensrehearsal.com
November 11, 2008 Remembrance Day Assembly at Gordon McGregor
School, Windsor
Mrs. Roy, a parent of our SOE Student Anne, invited us to be
a part of her school assembly for Remembrance Day. She was
in charge of this moving assembly remembering our soldiers and
veterans, and we really enjoyed ourselves.
We danced to the
song Freedom by Ian Smith and choreographed by our Dance
Instructor Leslie McCurdy.

The Spirit of Excellence Flag Company
performance team of students were honoured to be invited by the Rotary
Club to perform September 10th at the '2005 Children's Fest' held at
the Windsor's Safety Village. We have been invited
back each year and already have been asked to be there for
2009!!! Awesome - next year we will plan a longer show, where we
can invite children from the audience to join our Flaggers on stage
and teach them a few movements and flag to a finale song!
Spirit of Excellence Flag Company
opened the day's events with a march through the village and onto the
stage to perform several flag twirling songs. It was a great
event for our students to perform at. They also enjoyed participating
at the other fun kids activities in the 'Safety Village'.
Hundreds of children visited the Spirit
of Excellence Tent to participate in making their own free flag and
learn flag movements from our students.
This was the first event that the new
SOE Flag Troup performed at! The members were new flag twirlers as
most of them began learning flag twirling at Camp Xcellence 2005,
2006, 2007, 2008 and looking forward to 2009! |

We wish to give special honour to one of the men who coordinated this
dinner fundraiser, Mr. Al Kennedy, who passed suddenly the week end before
the event.
He was a dear friend to Mr. Jim Adkin and so many of the supporting
guests, and he is deeply missed.
We thank you Mr. Kennedy for your caring support of Spirit of Excellence,
and to Mrs. Kennedy who continued to show his support and belief in our
mission, by giving the memorial donations to our children's programs!
