Spirit of Excellence is a registered charity #88310 6809 RP0001, operating as an Educational Institute dedicated to the relief of poverty and developing potential within the Urban Community, providing free programs for lowincome children, youth and their family members.  

The Mission of Spirit of Excellence is to:

~              Provide relief of poverty and the improvement of lives physically, economically and spiritually

~              Provide participants the opportunity to discover and develop their potential

~              Provide participants hope for improved living, through programs that show them a plan of action

~              Offer enhancement of personal expression through the arts, improved social skills, literacy, community participation and support 

 

Uniquely linking the arts, life skills, literacy and education to;

~              Provide children and their families within the urban community the resources to explore their full potential

~              And to train and engage participants to be successful role models and mentors within their families and give back into their community.

~              Relieve poverty by providing food and other basic supplies to persons of low income, and establishing, operating and maintaining a Healthy Food program with practical lessons on healthy cooking, nutrition, and social development for children at risk and of low income

~                Providing counseling, library, book club, training and other similar programs to relieve poverty through educational support, life skills, mentoring, social and cognitive skill development

~              Provide individual assessments for a customized plan of action and program goals

Spirit of Excellence Commitment:

  • We are committed to relieving poverty through providing free healthy meals, after school healthy snacks, healthy well balanced meals, free clothing to children and women seeking employment, and additional educational assistance to build skills for improved living.

Spirit of Excellence Centre provides customized programs in three components:
  1. Physical   2.  Economical 3. and Spiritual
  2. Our mission is to meet needs of the community and our participants.    

We provide assistance Physically through;

  • Nutritious healthy snacks, and meals freely to children between the ages of 4 - and 18 years in age.  
  • Community Nourishment Program after school and Saturdays - in partnership with Jumpstart Community Nourishment Program 
  • Free Luncheons and Training Workshops to Women in Need of Guidance & Skills
  • Clothing distribution for children and women
  • Instruction in Fine Arts, Flag Twirling, Dance and Music
  • Children's performance Flag Company  called 'S.O.E. Flag Company'

We provide assistance Economically through;

  • Practical Training in Life Skills ~ Manners, Etiquette, Health, Sewing, Cooking, Laundry and Fitness
  • Assistance with Literacy & Work Skills  Program ~ a Satellite Laubach Literacy Program of  Windsor Public Library
  • Self Esteem Courses & Workshops
  • Queen Esther's Finishing School for girls and young women
  • Manners Academy for young boys
  • Conflict Resolution Classes
  • Computer Centre & Book Club
  •  Women & New & Expectant Mom's Support Training Luncheons
  • Discovery Class - discovering and fulfilling your potential
  • Educational Sponsorships available to Women in Need of Guidance and Skills, developing business skills and vocational training in certificate courses
     
    We provide assistance Spiritually by individual request, through referrals and classes geared to training in Sacred Arts;

    • Biblical training in Christian Praise and Worship Arts and Christian Living

Spirit of Excellence is a Creativity Training Centre providing a creative, educational and practical approach to developing personal improvement, relational and life skills.  

Welcome to SOE Website - please explore our programs and opportunities for involvement.  We are currently enrolling new students into the 2010 Calendar.  

Children ages 5 and up are welcome to enroll in our creative life skills programs as follows: 

 

~ Women of Excellence provides support and empowerment for those desiring to discover and develop their potential.  
~ Monthly Luncheons, with support & educational training are provided for:
~ Expectant,  New Mom's and parents with babies up to elementary school age "Journey into Parenting" group 
~ Women's Support Group - 2nd LAST Wednesday of each mos. 12:00 noon - 2:00 pm
~ Men and Women's Discovery Course - running weekly Thursday 7-9 pm for 6 weeks with a 7th week graduation event.
~ Computer & Life Skills Training:  Thursday evenings next start date tba   

Business Development for Women:  currently SOE has a vocational program through our Queen Esther's programs, and in offering courses in professional work skills and training in Nail Technology, fingernail Artistry, personal wardrobe & budgeting skills.  
All funds go to Spirit of Excellence to support our women's program, and provide employment experience, training and opportunities for participants to develop their work skills.

All services and classes are free to those who qualify, donations are accepted from those who wish to participate in classes, services and workshops.  

All donations, tuitions, costs for services received are reinvested into the mission of Spirit of Excellence, to relieve poverty, release creativity, improving economical & social situations, through providing spiritual guidance, arts in education and life educational skills.  

Qualifying criteria for free & reduced tuitions are proof of low income through child tax statement showing receipt of NCB (National Child Benefit supplement) or Ontario Works social services.
